Explore the most remote and spectacular highland tribe of Papua
The Yali tribe lives in very rough mountain terrain and all excursions from the mission airstrip require good physical condition. Day 1: Transfer to Wamena Airport, charter flight by mission MAF to Angguruk. After arrival in Angguruk short walk to a traditional Yali village above the airstrip with a fantastic view over the valley. Overnight in local huts or in tents. |

Excursion into the Botanical Paradise of Niugini Highlands
Day 1 Early morning start from The Baliem Valley Resort by off road vehicle to Lake Habema (3.200m), about 2 hours drive through fantastic rain forests. At the lake we reach the vast sub-alpine plateau with huge forests of fern trees. As soon as we reach the starting point of our trekking, we start our tour. Porters will carry food, luggage and tent-equipment. Local guide and cook also accompany us. Lunch brake on the way. About, 3pm we reach our first overnight place. Camping in fantastic nature. |

Day 1 JAYAPURA - WAMENA Arrive at Jayapura’s Sentani Airport and take a short flight to Wamena. Transfer to The Baliem Valley Resort. After lunch, visiting the local market in Wamena and hanging bridge in Sinakma in the afternoon. |

NDBT-WMX 04 HABOMA-LAKE (3.200 M ALTITUDE) Early in the morning depart for a full day excursion to Lake Habema (approx.3.300 meters above sea level), a 2 hours drive through extremely interesting vegetation on the mountains up to the sub-alpine and alpine flora areas. Upon arrival we will walk along the lake, a alocal cook of the crew will prepare lunch. From the lake we have a spectacular view of the very close Mount Trikora. Back to the resort late in the afternoon. |
